We live in rural Nova Scotia, in the ‘Lobster Capital of Canada’, or at least that is the local municipality’s opinion, so there are always lots of active wharves, full of colourful lobster boats. I thought it would be a nice change from the wildlife art to documents some of our local harbours. It gives me a chance to use some of the bright colours that are not routinely present on the birds, and a set of watercolour pencils that I don’t use much for nature studies. These are the Derwent Inktense pencils, that rather give the effect of an ink wash when wetted. Full sized pictures can be found on the appropriate pages.
